Looking back at our 2022 Customer Celebration

Published: 19th January 2023
Last December, customers, volunteers and staff gathered together to celebrate the achievements of our services, and the people they support over 2022.

Towards the end of last year customers from different Look Ahead services came together at the Museum of London to celebrate their accomplishments from over 2022.

Customers braved the snow and came from across London and the South East to join the party.

The day was jam-packed, with different activities including games, arts & crafts and mindfulness sessions.

Customers, staff and volunteers also enjoyed a sing along vocal workshop with our friends from the Choir with No Name.

They were treated to sets from our customer DJ Jack, and a dance performance from Look Ahead’s very own Amy Garvey House customer dance troupe as well.

Even our CEO Chris Hampson got to rock out!

Look Ahead presented awards to customers and services for their achievements too.

Love Your Home Awards

We recognised the services as part of our Love Your Home Awards programme. Which invited services to apply for grants from Look Ahead for improvements. Services submitted applications for gardens, improvements to internal communal spaces or to fund wellbeing projects or activities. We also had applications from supported and unsupported customers.

Over the summer volunteers from staff in both operations and central services as well as corporate and public sector partners helped make these service improvements a reality. The services who made the best improvements were recognised and awarded; here is a video showing the results:

Customer Awards

Most importantly, Look Ahead awarded customers for their own successes and milestones.

Customers from across Look Ahead’s specialisms were presented with prizes for their achievements in four categories that reflect Look Ahead’s values, including Excellence, Aspiration, Partnership and Trust.

We would also like to thank our generous supporters City Harvest and chapmanbdsp for contributing to the event.

Thank you to City Harvest for donating a variety of food from healthy fruit to biscuits and snacks that filled goodie bags for customers. Thank you as well to chapmanbdsp who sent us two lovely volunteers to support the event on the day. We really appreciate all the help from both of you.
