Wellesley House in Windsor is a unique service providing a home to around 21 parents and 21 children, including families who have been made homeless by rising rents and also some customers who have been long-term homeless.
The annual BBQ this year provided an opportunity to unveil new art installation Wall of Hope by local artist Pamela Engels, who has already donated art to the family room at the service.
Staff and customers were joined by Mayor and Mayoress Paul and Laura Lion, along with local councillors, police officers, and members of the community.
The event was covered in local newspaper the Royal Borough Observer.
The service provides a warm, safe environment to many who have been missing that for a long time.
As contract manager Mark Jolly says: “We want this to be a home, not a hostel.”
